Psychedelic Peace

People think of the sixties as an era of groovy psychedelic colours. Maybe so for the students of the time. But these colours did not sell new houses. Paint manufacturers also turned towards neutrals, although dominated by magnolia for some time, newer shades were making an appearance.

Purple Passion

Considered a sensuous colour, it was indeed considered daring to use it in an interior scheme. The many shades of purple that are now on offer can create with care, a rich and wonderful colour scheme to a room which will allow it to be used.

Mono Monochrome

Without doubt monochrome was a look of the 1960's, together with abstract designs.

Fifties Fever

The fifties saw an interest in funky designs, often associate with a futuristic look. Science fiction films and programmes that started to appear on the small screen also helped with the look of the future.

Plastic Pleasures

The 1960’s pop art culture loved plastic furniture and accessories.

Kosy Kitchens

1940 style kitchen accessories are much in fashion,. look for treasurers at car boot sales and give your kitchen a style of its own. Remember however, many kitchens in those days were small, hardly larger than a cupboard more than likely adjoining a larger living room area.
